Welcome to the alis technology net project deployed demonstration network. The system combines Agent, Web Services and Semantic Web technology to create an interconnected network within which automated systems at each node can provide services to one another. The testbed aims to:
- Link researchers and students between Latin America and Europe - providing new opportunities for technical collaboration and learning.
- Provide access to cutting edge technology to its users.
- Provide a basis for a number of teaching and tourism/cultural demonstrations.
The testbed forms part of the European Commission EuropeAid funded @lis project "@lis tehcnology net" - more details of which can be found on the main project homepage. At a technical level the network shown here interconnects with the more global opennet testbed network - using the same technology and allowing interoperability between platforms.
The systems found here are experimental and should not be relied upon for commercial grade service (see terms and conditions. The code deployed as well as that needed to connect to the testbed is available as open source (BSD style license) from the opennet-srv [sourceforge] project.
Information about organisations working in and around the testbed can be found on the about pages. The services provided here include:
| IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are using the JADE TOOLKIT to connect to the openNet Network you must use the MTP package provided with openNet-srv software release. Using the Jade bundled MTPs may result in your platform crashing uncontrollably. |
